The Cast and Crew for Rumors

Debbie Krulicki  Debbie Krulicki (Chris Gorman)

This is Debbie's first time in an Encore show, but she is thrilled to be performing in another Neil Simon play, after having recently appeared as Maggie in Jake's Women at the Village Playhouse. Other productions include Monique at East Side Players, Run for Your Wife at Theatre Etobicoke, and Steel Magnolias and Rope at the Village Playhouse.
   
Lada Darewych Lada Darewych (Cassie Cooper)

This has been a busy year for Lada. She has performed all over the city, playing Sheila in Jake's Women, Anna in a new Canadian comedy Life Lands Down, and Maggie in Lend Me A Tenor, among others. She is thrilled to be making her debut with Encore Entertainment in Rumors and can only hope that 2001 will keep her working hard! Love and many thanks to Kieren.
   
Bodene Corbitt Bodene Corbitt (Cookie Cusack)

This is Bodene's first time performing with Encore Entertainment. She performs regularly with The Curtain Club (Sylvia, Bag Babies, Fallen Angels, The Glass Menagerie, Opening Night) and East Side Players (The Heiress, The Sisters Rosensweig, The Long Christmas Dinner). She is a big fan of Neil Simon and of her long-time director Zenon.
   
Merle Garbe Merle Garbe (Claire Ganz)

Merle is the founder of Encore Entertainment and is delighted to be getting back on stage after spending the past 3 years behind the scenes. She directed Encore's productions of Enter Laughing, Fiddler on the Roof, Anne of Green Gables, Beau Jest, The Fantasticks, and Jest A Second. Some of her favourite roles have been Mrs. Van Daan in The Diary of Anne Frank, Faye in Chapter Two, Florence in The Odd Couple - Female Version, Trudy in Social Security, Yente the Matchmaker in Fiddler on the Roof, and Mrs. Peterson in Bye Bye Birdie. She is especially happy to have the opportunity to share the stage with her dear friend Mario.
   
Mario D'Alimonte Mario D'Alimonte (Lenny Ganz)

Mario will be very familiar to Encore's audience, having previously appeared as Bob in Beau Jest and its sequel, Jest A Second, Bellomy in The Fantasticks, George Schneider in Chapter Two, and Nathan Detroit in Guys and Dolls. Other favourite roles include Petie Maxwell in Love and Anger, Jake in Jake's Women, and the Emcee in Cabaret. Mario directed Encore's production of You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown last season, and looks forward to directing Nunsense this spring.
 
   
Aaron Sidenberg Aaron Sidenberg (Officer Welch)

Aaron, recently back from Nipissing Stage Co's inaugural repertory season in North Bay, makes his debut with Encore Entertainment. His selected stage credits include Alone Together (The Village Playhouse), The Petrified Forest, Wait Until Dark, Moon Over Buffalo, Train Town (all with Nipissing Stage Co.), The Foreigner, Arsenic and Old Lace, Office Hours (all with Take Two Theatre, Timmins), My Three Angels (Ottawa Little Theatre), The Magician's Nephew, Aladdin, The Miser (all with Pegasus Repertory Theatre Co.) Aaron has won awards at both the QUONTA and THEATRE ONTARIO festivals including Best Actor and Best Director. He is also a magician and is thrilled to be working with such a "fun-loving" group.
 
   
Peter Maxwell Peter Maxwell (Ken Gorman)

A graduate of McMaster University's Dramatic Arts program, Peter has studied improv at Second City and has extensive clown training with John Turner and Mike Kennard (Mump & Smoot). He is a veteran of the Canadian Fringe Theatre Festival circuit and has toured the country twice, most recently in Scratch and the Box, as show he wrote and performed to critical acclaim. Most recently, he played Mortimer Brewster in Arsenic and Old Lace at the Village Playhouse. If none of this rings any bells for you and he still looks familiar, then you probably recognize him from one of the commercials he appeared in. 
   

 Ron Kivinen (Ernie Cusack)

Ron joins Encore Entertainment for the first time. Most recently he appeared in Amicus Productions' Harvey. Other selected credits include The Seagull, The Three Sisters, A Delicate Balance, The Plough and the Stars, To-Night Bert Brecht, A Touch of the Poet, all at the Alumnae Theatre.

   
 Larry Westlake (Producer)

Although this is Larry's first time producing for Encore, he has been actively involved with the company over the years, as a choreographer (Fiddler on the Roof, Anne of Green Gables), designed costumes (Guys and Dolls, Anne of Green Gables), performed onstage (Enter Laughing, Fiddler on the Roof, Guys and Dolls), headed the set construction (Chapter Two), painted numerous sets and drove many a truck. He has been seen around the province in a variety of roles including The Governor in Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Arnold in Torch Song Trilogy, Bobby in A Chorus Line, and Bert Healy in Annie. He has also been "Simon-ized", having appeared as Felix in The Odd Couple, Billy and Sydney in California Suite, and Paul in Barefoot in the Park. With his company, Capricorn 9 Productions, he produced the Canadian Premiere of the musical Most Men Are at the St. Lawrence Centre. He is also an accomplished playwright and director of the Mel Lastman Variety Players' Jerry-At-Trick Revue.
   
Lorne Eisen  Lorn Eisen (Glenn Cooper)

Lorn is excited to be a part of the Rumors cast and especially to be working with Encore Entertainment again. He studied acting in New York City at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and has done numerous plays and films since returning to Toronto. He makes his Canadian television debut in January with a small role in the premiere episode of CTV's The Associates. Favourite role? Jesus in Encore Entertainment's production of The Odd Couple (Female Version) ... of course!
   
  Natalya Brown (Officer Pudney)

After training as a professional dancer with the National Ballet School for
five years, Natalya Brown begain acting in 1996. Since then she has shown
promise in commercials, television, and Canadian independent film. Rumors
is Natalya's second theatre production, and her first time working with Encore
Entertainment. She played Nurse Kelly in an October production of Mary Chase's Harvey.
   
Zenon Skrzypczyk Zenon Skrzypczyk (Director)

Zenon has directed many community theatre productions across the GTA from Scarborough to Oakville, most recently The Gin Game at the Curtain Club and Jake's Women at the Village Playhouse. This is his first show for Encore Entertainment. He hopes the audience enjoys Rumors as much as he and this wonderful cast and crew enjoyed doing it.
   
  Heather Lacey (Stage Manager)

Though this is Heather's first show with Encore Entertainment, she has been involved in theatre for the past ten years. Having always preferred being behind the scenes, she has stage managed for groups such as East Side Players and The Curtain Club. During December, Heather will be working at Stage West on Winnie-the-Pooh, A Christmas Tail and on The Jubilee at Tarragon Extra Space.
